The present need to relate to different cultures improves competitive conditions in the international markets.
Internationalization thus now plays a role in university policies, leading to a growing exchange of students and faculty among universities, the development of joint plans between institutions and the transfer of information and educational programs.
The Saint Thomas International Experience Program, with over 60 agreements with institutions in all 5 continents, offers students and faculty the possibility to study at foreign institutions or conduct academic or research internships.
IC-USTA (International Council of Universities of St. Thomas Aquinas) is the international network of Thomist universities, whereby academic exchanges are conducted at all levels (faculty, researchers, students and information).
One of its goals is to establish a mutual enrichment system among all members, through programs, research work, publications and experiences, with over 25 participant institutions in this worldwide academic network.
IC-USTA was founded by Universidad Santo Tomás of Santiago, Chile in 1993. At present, Executive Management is centered at University of Saint Thomas in Houston, United States of America.
